摘要

The presence of polycyclic aromatics has been found to suppress the rate of hydrodesulfurization (HDS) in distillate hydrotreating.Hydrodesulfurization reactions do not occur in isolation,but rather compete for the co-reactant hydrogen as well as for catalyst sites with aromatics saturation (HDA) reactions.Both these phenomena were explored as potential causes of the observed suppression of HDS by polycyclic aromatics in a series of pilot plant experiments and mathematical simulations.
