Gasoline sulfur reduction is one of the major requirements for producing clean gasoline. FCC gasoline accounts for about 70% of the Chinese gasoline pool and contributes 90% of the total gasoline sulfur, it is critical to reduce the sulfur contents of this gasoline stream. Traditional means for reducing sulfur include feed hydrotreating and naphtha hydrofinishing, and lowering the end-poing of FCC naphtha, these options are capital-intensive and may cause gasoline yield loss (1). Thus, there is great incentive for gasoline sulfur removal directly through FCC process by using special catalyst or additive (2-4).
