The problem of the instability of Fluidized Catalytic Cracked (FCC) Diesel is becoming an increasing concern in the refinery industry. The objective of this paper is to study the formation of hydro-peroxides in FCC diesel. It can be concluded that the tetralin contained active H ((#alpha#-H) was easily auto-oxidized into hydro-peroxides. The concentrations of hydro-peroxide (-OOH%) could be increased to 5.01(wt%), when tetralin was heated at 373 K for 30hours and aerated with air 90-100ml/min. Cetene, cetane and 1-mthyl-naphthalene were very stable and could not be auto-oxidized into hydroperoxides. There existed great co-oxidations between the tetralin and olefins. The extent of auto-oxidizations increased with the increase of the initial content of tetralin, and the airflow. The auto-oxidations were strongly inhibited by the antioxidants, phenols and thiols.
