Hydrocracking processing with dispersed catalysts and visbreaking of heavy oil and catalytic or non-catalytic liquefaction of coal have been known for several decades. Hydrogen donors can provide the activated hydrogen atom when heated together with vacuum resisdue and coal, have been used in n order to improve upgrading of feed. It has hardly been reported that the combination of dispersed catalysts and hydrogen donors have been used to upgrade heavy petroleum residues to cope with the excessive coke formation. The former report show the hydrocracking of residue could be improved by the combination of dispersed catalysts and hydrogen donors in comparison with pure dispersed catalysts. The aim of this work is to investigate hydrocracking reaction systems of LHVR with the combination between different dispersed catalyst H-donor and to study the synergism between hydrogen donors and different dispersed catalysts in slurry-bed hydrocracking.
