Effects of the Porosity and Pore Size Distribution of the Porous Stainless Steel on the Thickness and Hydrogen Flux of Palladium Membranes
Hydrogen separation and purification from a reaction gas mixture under high temperature is one of the most important applications of the dense Pd/Pd-alloy membranes. Composite Pd/Pd-alloy membranes supported on porous stainless steel are especially suited for these purposes. The objective of the present study is to investigate the effect of the porosity and pore size distribution of the 316L porous stainless steel support on the thkckness of Pd dense layer and hydrogen flux.
