New farm technology boggles the mind

AN FFA member prepared a speech on what agriculture will be like by 2021. The student's problem was being imaginative enough to outpace today. She thought she had hit gold when she said the future might include robots plucking weeds out of fields. Then at the National Farm Machinery Show in February, therewas a robot plucking fake weeds! It was a publicity stunt, but the robot was real. Tractors that drive themselves, the ability to start irrigation systems from half a world away — it's either already here or nearly here.
