Increased volatility creates opportunities

FEBRUARY is historically a quiet month in the grain markets, except in years following a short crop. Last year's crops were anything but short as a whole, yet February should be anything but quiet this year. Surplus corn and soybean stocks are the largest in nearly two decades, but rapidly expanding world demand and general inflationary expectations for all commodities create the opportunity for significant volatility as we move deeper into 2006.
