Sabah Forest Industries (SFI), the Malay-sian subsidiary of India's Ballarpur Indus-tries (BILT), has lost its Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification after complaints over staff freedom of association and collec-tive bargaining rights (No. 26, p.1).BILT and SFI were obliged to address the situation with a committed action plan by the end of June.
