Paper Excellence reportedly plans 2020 restart for Canadian BSK mill; sells German CWF mill

Paper Excellence, a Canadian holding firm that has been associated with Asia Pulp & Paper (APP) and Indonesia's Widjaja family, is reportedly planning to restart the mothballed Prince Albert pulp mill in Saskatchewan in 2020. That is the expiration point of a non-compete clause with former owner Domtar, which currently precludes the restart of bleached softwood kraft (BSK) pulp production there. The shuttered mill, which Paper Excellence purchased in 2012, could produce 330,000 tonnes/yr of BSK.
