Most people don't consider temperature sensing glamorous. High throughput, low power, and high performance are the topics that seem to generate the most excitement. After all, how much impact can a 4¢ thermistor have on product design? Consider the effect of temperature on the human body. A rise in temperature of even 3°F is enough to keep most of us in bed. We can try to keep functioning, but our efficiency is significantly reduced and our output much lower quality than when we are in peak condition.
