A compact, fluidized-bed cooler combines mobility with sufficient capacity for an extruded plastic pellets manufacturer.Compounding Engineering Solutions (CES), Clifton, N.J., had a hot problem on its hands. The 2-year-old custom toll compounder extrudes a wide range of plastics, including thermoplastics, natural plastics based on starch, plastic rubbers, and, increasingly, cellulose (or wood-flour) plastics, which represent a new and expanding market. The plastics are extruded and pelletized prior to packaging.
