Recycling plans at General Electric's Lighting Division Glass Plant in Somerset, KY, have been gathering dust for a long time. But, when management initiated plans to replace an outdated electrostatic precipitator a few years ago, aimed at boosting the plant's reclamation of glass furnace flue dust to the 99.9% level, they also sought a better way to process that dust for recycling... and found it in a roll press briquetting system that eliminates the maintenance problems associaetd with a pellet rolling method used earlier.
