Novel characteristics of hydrolyzed,unhydrolyzed grafted and cationised polysaccharides

摘要

A LARGE number of industrially useful polysaccharides are available from natural and microbial resources and find applications as food,cosmetics and pharmaceutical additives.They are extensively used in various technical applications as drag reducers,flocculants and mineral processing aids.Their other technical applications that take advantage of their rheological properties are in printing press,paints,colours,textures,coating and adhesives.Most of these properties are mainly because of the fact that these polysaccharides make highly viscous aqueous solutions.Most of the aqueous solutions are non-Newtonian and highly pseudoplastics.
