摘要

Child health affects health in adulthood and socioeconomic status. Investments in child health made during critical periods of child development result in larger returns; conversely, failure to invest can lead to severe long-term economic consequencesat both the household and the macro-economic level. Understanding the determinants of child health is clearly an important aspect of child well-being. In the case of sub-Saharan Africa in particular, the need to reduce undernutrition is one of the major challenges in improving child health.
