Global Developments: Solvay SA forms joint venture in Russia for PVC compounds

Solvay SA, Belgium, and Nikos, a private Russian industrial group, have agreed to form a 50:50 joint venture company, named Soligran, for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) compounds in Russia. The new company is scheduled to be in operation by November 2003. It will mark the return of Solvay's industrial activities in Russia's after 85 years.
