Microemulsion copolymerization of methyl methacrylate with acrylonitrile

The microemulsion (M.E.) and conventional emulsion (C.E.) copolymerizations of methyl methacrylate (MMA) with acrylonitrile (AN) are carried out at 70 deg C by employing n-butyl cellosolve (BC) as co-surfactant along with sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS) as surfactant in the reaction medium,and potassium persulphate (KPS) as initiator.The copolymers are characterized by FTIR,NMR,TG/DTA and GPC techniques.
