Polypropylene (PP) global consumption grew from 4.8 in 1980 to 34.6 million tons in 2002, corrersponding to an average annual growth rate of 9.4%. Maack Business Servcies, Au/Zuirich, Switzerland, estimates future global growth to be at a minimum of 6.2% p.a., resulting in a global PP consumption of about 56 million tons in 2010.
