HOT runners, because of their numerous advantages, are fast replacing conventional feeding systems in injection moulds. Indian industry too has recognized the advantages and has been adopting the system with the result that now over a dozen international manufacturers with different hot runner systems are represented in India. In spite of the fact that the hot runners have become highly complicated and sophisticated, there has been an acute dearth of literature on the subject and the user is often confused about the difference and merits of various systems in the market.
