摘要

An investigation of the reactive blending of engineering polymers has been accomplished. Miscibility enhancement was conducted by several modifications of the blending techniques. Inter phase modification of individual polymers by the use of compatibilizers were tried. Four different methods were adopted based on different reagents to make better miscibility. Characterization of the reagents synthesized in the laboratory was conducted using FTIR and chemicalanalysis. Comparative evaluation had been conducted with the blends of physical and modified blends. Tests were conducted on mechanical, chemical, thermal, electrical, flammability characteristics of all the blends. The properties of all modified blends are superior to that of physicafblending. The Thermal characterizations were conducted using DSC and TGA. The extent of miscibility was examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The scanning electron micrographs show better homogeneity with excellent property enhancement.
