Solvay inaugurates research centre at Savli, Gujarat; eyeing surfactant unit acquisition

BELGIUM based chemicals group, Solvay, has opened its new Research, Development and Technology (RD&T) centre at Savli, near Vadodara, Gujarat. Set up at an investment of Rs. 40-crore, the centre will focus its efforts mainly on the development of high-performance polymers, organic chemistry, nano composites and green chemistry. Housed in a new and high-performance sustainable building, it will employ over 200 researchers when fully operational.
