WACKER presents novel post-curing process for silicone rubber

WACKER, the Munich-based chemical company, presented a newly developed method for thermal post-curing of silicone elastomers at this year's FAKUMA international tradeshow for plastics processing. Based on a vacuum post-curing principle, the method utilizes a highly efficient exhaust air recycling system that greatly reduces waste gas. The result is a post-curing method for silicone elastomers that not only saves energy and costs, but is also highly safe and virtually emission free. Additional highlights include new liquid silicone rubber grades for food-industry dosing valves and flame retardant LSR for optimum fire protection. FAKUMA will take place from October 18 to 22 in Friedrichshafen, Germany.
