THE importance of packaging is increasing in all sectors, especially, the agriculture, fruits, vegetables and seafood segments, said Mr K.S. Srinivas, Kerala Industries and Commerce Secretary, in his inaugural address, at an all-India workshop on the 'Packaging of Processed & other Ethnic Foods', organised by the Indian Institute of Packaging here on Friday. The latest technologies in packaging must be adopted to realise the benefits of value-addition, he said. Mr Srinivas also announced that similar workshops would be conducted in all the major cities in Kerala and called upon investors in the State to come forward to set up more industries in this sunrise segment.
