THE Indian Plastic Industry has indeed made very rapid strides in the recent past-amazingly it took India 30 years to consume 500 kT of polymers,but only five years.to double that figure.It is estimated that the total consumption of polymers for plastic applications in India in the current financial year is expected to exceed 6.5 mT,and projections indicate that India would become the third largest consumer of plastics in the world by 2010.
