IOC commissions Panipat naphtha cracker project in record time

IOC has commissioned its naphtha cracker project at the Panipat refinery in a record time of 46 months. The 857-ktpa project is also the largest such project in the country in terms of capacity. The Rs. 14,439-crore project now figures on top of the list with regard to fastest commissioning, as compared to other cracker and polymer projects in the country. Previously, the list was headed by Haldia Petrochemical Ltds (HPL) naphtha cracker project at Haldia, which was commissioned in a period of 48 months. Globally, the project ranks second in terms of quickest commissioning in recent times, only behind PMECs 800-ktpa gas cracker in Thailand, which was commissioned in February, 2010, in a period of 43 months.
