Iron Utilisation By Broilers: Dietary supplementation with iron from an Fe-lysine chelate

The form in which minerals are added to broiler diets is of concern as attempts are made to obtain sources of the minerals which provide higher absorption and utilisation. It has been estimated that if the minerals are chelated with amino-acids (Culysine, Zn-lysine), their intestinal absorption is enhanced and they are at the same time protected biochemically from the adverse reactions of other dietary nutrients.
