Bio Amber licenses JM Davy technology for BDO/THF plants

BioAmber Inc. has entered into a technology license with Johnson Matthey Davy Technologies. The licensing package will enable BioAmber to construct and operate a plant that uses bio-succinic acid as the feedstock to produce 70,000 t of 1,4-butane-diol (BDO) and 30,0001 of tetrahy-drofuran (THF). The license will help the company to accelerate deployment of its BDC/THF facility, which it plans to commission in 2018.
