PU Magazine: Mr. Palmersheim, with effect from 1 January 2013, you became the Secretary General of Isopa. Congratulations on your new job. Firstly for our readers who do not know you yet, can you provide us with a short curriculum vitae? Jorg Palmersheim: I studied Business Economics at Paderborn University before joining Bayer in 1985 on their internal trainee programme. At the time I was also a professional handball player for Gummersbach and then TSV Bayer Dormagen. So from an early age I had to organise my time between work, study, and training. Since joining Bayer as a Marketing Representative for technical fibres in 1989 I have held positions at Wolff Walsrode, Bayer UK, Bayer PUR in Leverkusen, and most recently with Bayer International based in Fribourg, Switzerland, responsible for systems in Automotive and Diversified Industries as well as the TPU resins business across the EMEA region. So I have a strong background in the European PU industry.
