Following recent acquisitions RKW Group to close two plants in Spain and Germany

Following recent acquisitions, Germany-based RKW Group, a global manufacturer of plastic films and nonwovens is consolidating some of its production capacity in Europe, resulting in the closure of two production sites. The facilities affected are RKW Werra in Philippsthal, Germany, and RKW Iter S.A.U. in Zaragoza, Spain. The closures will affect around 180 people. Products manufactured at the Zaragoza plant include printed films for the beverage and hygiene industry and at Philippsthal mainly films for the agriculture market. Closure of the two plants is due to unsatisfactory rates of return and a decision to focus on some core products.
