Bemis Q2, 2014 results show 4% decline in sales

Bemis Co has reported Q2, 2014 revenues at $1.242 billion, representing a 4.3% decline compared with the same period in 2013. Sales in the company's US Packaging segment, which accounts for around 60% of group revenues, declined by 7.1% to $726 million, of which divestitures of the Clysar polyolefin shrink film and Paper Packaging businesses accounted for 6.6% of this, and 0.5% from lower volumes. Associated operating profit increased by 26% to $101 million. The margin improvement reflects the higher proportion of value-added products sold during the quarter.
