Asia Pacific is set to become the world's second largest confectionery market, ahead of North America

A recent article by market analysts Euromoniter International has revealed some interesting statistics this quarter. By the end of 2014, the global retail value of confectionery sales are expected to reach US$198 billion, the highest level recorded and almost US$4 billion up on 2013. Western Europe will remain the largest market with a 32% share at US$62.9 billion, followed by Asia Pacific with 19% and North America with just under 18% market share.
