FPA forecasts 3.8% growth in the US flexible packaging market in 2014

The US Flexible Packaging Association is forecasting that the nation's total flexible packaging market will have grown by 3.8% overall to $28.2 billion in 2014, up from $27.2 billion in the previous year. The FPA reports that sales of value-added flexible packaging were estimated at around $21.2 billion in 2013. This figure excludes retail shopping bags, consumer storage bags, or trash bags. According to the FPA, the US flexible packaging industry employs nearly 79,000 people. The top 100 flexible packaging companies, out of an estimated total of 408 concerns, account for just over 75% of the industry's sales.
