Food manufacturers report sales growth in Q2

Three US food manufacturers, PepsiCo, Hershey and Grupo Bimbo announced their second quarter financial results. PepsiCo's quarter two 2014 net sales increased by 0.5% compared to the same period last year resulting in the first half year sales remaining steady at US$29 billion. In the second quarter, organic revenue in the global snacks business grew by 5% with Frito-Lay in North America reporting 2% growth for the quarter.
