Bemis 3rd quarter profits in Global Packaging increase but US Packaging profits decline

Bemis Company has reported third quarter 2014 net sales from continuing operations declining by 2.1% to $1.098 billion. The cost of products sold declined by 2.2% to $877.5 million in the quarter. Gross profit declined 1.6% year on year to $220.7 million. Net sales from the US Packaging segment declined by 4.5% over the period to $716.7 million with associated adjusted segment operating profit down 2.4% at $95 million.
