Gumboro hampers efforts to improve nutrition of Ghana's growing population

A seven-year survey of Infectious Buisal Disease outbreaks has indicated the extent of both direct and indirect losses to the industry as well as offering some practical ways to control the disease. At just 5.8g, the animal protein intake of Ghanaians is well below internationally acceptable levels for normal healthy development. This low intake level is partly due to the high cost of animal products but also because livestock production meets less than 30 percent of national demand.
