Interest in DTM coatings for military applications growing in North America

Just like everyone else, the US mili- tary is always looking for ways to reduce the cost and increase the implicity and ease of its coating processes. Until recently, direct-to-metal (DTM) coatings, which can simplify the coating process and save both time and resources, have only been applicable for light- to medium-duty general applications, such as general metal finishing, automotive, appliances, lawn and garden, architectural metals, and metal furniture due to the level of performance they have provided. Advances in DTM coating technologies are, however, leading to their initial use in some military applications.
