Acetylene- and maleimide-terminated benzoxazines

There is considerable interest in polybenzoxazines as a new class of phenolic resins with interesting properties but prepared from relatively cheap materials. Additionally they cure without the need for a catalyst. In recent years additional crosslinking sites or copolymer units have been investigated as a means of modifying or improving the performance properties, including the incorporation of maleimide functionality to enhance their thermal properties.
