Ring opening of oxazoline ring

Poly(N-isopropyl acrylamide) (PNiPAm) is probably the most used material that has lower critical solution temperature behaviour in aqueous solution. Controlled radical polymerisation techniques provide a means of preparing well-defined PNiPAm-based polymer architectures and allowing its attachment to surfaces etc. This paper presents another means or additional means of functionalising PNiPAm-based polymers, using 2-isopropenyl-2-oxazoline (iPOx).
