摘要

The use of branched polymers have advantages over traditional linear polymers with regards to viscosity, higher solids content, low VOC and faster cure rates. This patent relates to the use of branched copolymers to impart post-synthesis crosslinking functionality in all manner of coatings, including sealants, adhesives and mouldings.The claimed branched copolymers can utilise any known form of crosslinking functionality including, but not limited to, epoxy, silicone, isocyanate, disulfide, thiol-ene reactions. Curable formulations may consist of a blend of different functional polymers at least one of which is a branched copolymer and may be presented as a single pot or two-pack coating system.
