Epoxy Resins

摘要

The modification of an aliphatic epoxy resin with silicone has been performed through a urethane route. A hydroxy-terminated polydimethylsiloxane has been reacted with toluene diisocyanate to yield an isocyanate end-capped prepolymer, which has been further reacted with the hydroxyl groups from the aliphatic epoxy adipate obtained by the reaction of adipic acid and an aliphatic epoxy resin. The procedure has been used to obtain resins modified with a content of 15-30% silicone prepolymer.
