Dendrimers/Hyperbranched/Star Polymers

摘要

Polymer brush coatings from polymer chains attached to a surface and less than 100 nm thick are employed to generate functional surfaces. The surface properties are depending on the type and length of the polymer used and the grafting density. This paper reports the preparation of the hydrophilic and hydrophobic brush coatings on different substrates through the use of a polyacrylic primer layer. The hydrophilic poly(ethylene glycol) brush coatings are reported to exhibit a decrease of adhesion of marine bacteria to the surface.
