Resin transfer molding of BMIs and polymides

摘要

Bismaleimdes (BMI) and experimental polyimides were resin transfer molded into carbon fiber fabrics using a custom-built injection mold placed within a vacuum hot press. This represents the first time that the latter type of materials has been resin transfer molded. This is a critical stage in developing materials and processing methods for future aerospace applications, such as the High Speed Civil Transport (HSCT). [References: 3]
