Cereplast files for Bankruptcy, protection from creditors

Bioplastics specialist Cereplast has filed for protection from creditors under Chapter 11 of the US Bankruptcy Code. The company said it made the move "to strengthen its balance sheet, clean up its capitalisation structure and gain financial flexibility as it continues to realign its operations".
