As part of its Igubal system,Igus,Germany,has developed new plain bearings and pedestal bearings made completely of plastics.Both these bearings are extremely light and compact,simple to install and adapt to all angular deviations.In the field of bearing technology,such machine components,made of compounded high-performance polymers,are being used more and more often in handling,in laboratories and in jig construction.This trend is due to the fact that the material properties allow these bearings to be used for dry applications.These can be managed without a seal,even in heavily soiled environments,and are corrosion-resistant in liquids ft even chemicals.
