Command Packaging starts recycling business

In a first-of-a-kind program for plastic bag manufacturers in the U.S., custom plastics bag manufacturer Command Packaging in Vernon, Calif., has created an onsite plastic film and bag recycling center to process and collect scrap from other area businesses. Chief Executive Officer Pete Grande said in the release "The environmental pressures on plastics, particularly litter and the low recycling rate of plastic bags, has created the need for us as an industry to take some kind of responsibility. We have set a corporate goal to make all of our products with some recycled content and, hopefully, at some point, make all bags from 100 percent recycled content. The goal is to create a truly integrated closed-loop sustainable solution."
