摘要

"All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: They have their exits and their entrances." Possibly inspired by this line from William Shakespeare, former UK prime minister David Cameron left his office, humming to himself, in the wake of the June 23 vote in favour of exiting the EU. While his successor, Theresa May, is now tasked with the job of leading the country, poor economic data are hitting the economy. A recent poll among UK firms showed that the economy slumped deeper than during the 2009 financial crisis, and many economists expect it to slip into recession. Investment bank Credit Suisse predicts that 500,000 jobs will be lost in the UK as a result of Brexit.
