While his successor, Theresa May, is now tasked with the job of leading the country, poor economic data are hitting the economy. A recent poll among UK firms showed that the economy slumped deeper than during the 2009 financial crisis, and many economists expect it to slip into recession. Investment bank Credit Suisse predicts that 500,000 jobs will be lost in the UK as a result of Brexit.
