Plastic materials for manufacture of pipes and its applications

摘要

For transportation of liquids like drinking water,irrigation water,oils,chemicals,acids and sludge,pipe products are being used.These pipe products are being manufactured from materials like galvanised iron (Gl),cast iron (Cl),steel,asbestos and cement concrete.These materials are being replaced by synthetic plastics like Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) and Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (CPVC),Polyethylene (PE) and Cross-linked Polyethylene(PEX),Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene(ABS),and Poly-butylene(PB),because of its advantages.In this article,the properties,advantages and its applications of these plastic materials used for manufacturing of pipes are discussed in detail.
