The tide may be turning as far as tracking in the UK is concerned. While Scotland is still holding on to its moratorium, shale gas exploration in England is slowly getting underway. Also, in early September, the first "Dragon Class" ship of In-eos (Rolle / Switzerland; www.ineos.com) was due to unload its initial ethane shipment at the group's cracker in Grangemouth, Scotland. Earlier this month, new UK prime minister Theresa May proposed that some of the proceeds of tracking be paid directly to local residents, and the UK's new energy minister Lucy Neville-Rolfe has weighed in on the subject, too.
