After starting the month with calls for rises aimed at greasing their margins, most European standard thermoplastics producers were forced to quickly abandon such hopes. All it took to undermine the official line was one producer granting concessions equivalent to the cost decline. In the end, the fall in PE prices almost equalled that of ethylene, while in response. to stable C3 prices, PP suppliers submitted to a rollover. Meanwhile, PS and EPS producers are having a hard time factoring in the higher SM cost. Only leading PVC producers are insisting on a rollover.
