The global plastic additives market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.8% from 2015 to 2020, according to a new study published by BCC Research (Wellesley, Massachusetts / USA; www.bccresearch.com). Valued at USD 43.3 bn in 2013, the market is forecast to reach nearly USD 60.3 bn by 2020. The increase follows a period of overall decline within the general plastics industry, which BCC says began in 2002 amid reduced profit margins and rising feedstock prices. Following the turnaround in 2010, the plastic additives market also recovered and is "poised for a greater future," the researchers say.
