摘要

Despite the regional political uncertainties and the Eurocrisis, Turkey's plastics industry continued to make strides in 2013. The country's plastics industry association Plasfed (Istanbul / Turkey; www.plasfed.org.tr) reports that a total of 8.1m t of polymer was processed in Turkey in 2013 - a year-on-year increase of 14%. That makes the country Europe's second largest plastics processor, the association says, surpassing Italy, as previously predicted. The sector has a current workforce of about 250,000 employees, spread across 6,500 companies.
